Marienberg Neighbourhood Now Has a Community Volleyball Court

The future Marienberg neighbourhood welcomes its first community volleyball court, open to local residents as well as city dwellers from further afield. The court is now open and is available for everyone to use. The Marienberg community volleyball court is located on the site of the current Estonian Fair Centre, behind the Blue Pavilion. ‘While taking a walk on the future Marienberg property, we came across an old volleyball court. Since the area is set to become a community hub offering a wide range of recreational and sports activities for local residents and visitors, we decided to restore the beach volleyball court for this summer,’ said Herdis Pärn, Marketing Manager at Metro. He expressed hope that the volleyball court will provide an opportunity for community members to meet and spend time actively together. ‘It is certainly a convenient location for those coming from Kadriorg and other parts of the city centre or Pirita, but volleyball enthusiasts from across the city are very welcome.’ The court is free to use and no advance booking is required. To ensure that all community members can enjoy their time at the volleyball court, everyone is kindly asked to use the space responsibly. Please be considerate towards others, keep the area clean and leave the court in an even better condition than when you arrived. The volleyball court will remain open until the end of the season, weather permitting. In addition to spending time at the volleyball court, the future Marienberg neighbourhood will offer opportunities to walk along the green promenade, engage in urban gardening, read a book on a park bench, enjoy the playground, take part in different sports activities or meet neighbours along the running track.
